Review of Emission Characteristics and Purification Methods of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in Cooking Oil Fume

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in cooking oil fumes need to be efficiently removed due the significant damage they cause environment and human health. This review discusses emission characteristics, which are influenced by different temperatures, oils, cuisines. Then, various fume purification methods mainly classified into physical capture, chemical decomposition, combination methods. VOCs removal rate, system operability, secondary pollution, application area, cost compared. The catalytic combustion method was found have advantages of high VOC efficiency, environmental protection, low cost. Therefore, last part this focuses on research progress summarizes its mechanisms catalysts. Marse-van Krevelen (MVK), Langmuir-Hinshelwood (L-H), Eley-Rideal (E-R) analyzed. Noble metal non-noble catalysts commonly used. former showed excellent activity at temperatures strong adsorption electron transfer abilities, but price limits application. transition metals primarily comprise latter, including single composite Compared catalysts, interaction between can further enhance performance.
